Delton Clint Waters, age 18, of Dahlonega went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 21, 2020.

Clint was born in Hall County on August 22, 2001. He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents Robert and Hattie Reeves, and P.J. “Pa Hunt Hunt” and Gladys Wehunt; and maternal great-grandfather Joseph Christy.

Every once in a while a bright spot comes to this world and that bright spot came to Lumpkin County in a young man named Clint Waters. He came with a heart as big as he was, loving everyone and helping anyone he could. Clint will forever be remembered by the few words he spoke, yet he said so much with his love and smile that could light up any room. He loved anything with a motor and a wheel. From cutting grass to bush-hogging, Clint loved to hear a motor run. His black 1975 Ford F-100 pickup was something he was very fond of.

More than anything in this world Clint loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart! On May 5, 2018, at his grandparent’s house, Clint called on the Lord to save him. Clint had a contagious faith in God. He loved Gospel Music, and deeply loved his church and church family, Friendship Baptist. This Friday, May 22, 2020, Clint was supposed to receive his diploma with his classmates, the Class of 2020 from Lumpkin County High School. The Lord had greater plans for him and his graduation was from a world of sin and sorrow to his new home in Heaven with the Lord.

Survivors include his parents Delton and Regina Waters; paternal grandparents Clinton and Marie Waters, and Eddie and Glenda Palmer, all of Dahlonega; maternal grandparents Calvin Ray, Cleveland, and Brenda Cash, Hoschton; maternal great-grandmother Hettie Christy, Dawsonville; and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 PM Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Friendship Baptist Church. Only the immediate family will be seated in the church. Other friends and family can drive up to the church and tune into the FM transmitter in your vehicle on 90.3 FM. The Rev. Dalton Delozier and the Rev. Lance Fuller will officiate. Interment will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawsonville with the Rev. Tony Ledford and the Rev. Steve Barrett officiating. The family welcomes any family and friends to attend the graveside service while practicing safe social distancing.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the funeral home. Please be patient during the visitation as the number of people allowed in the building at one time will be limited.
