Commissioners Edwin Nix and Lyn Holcomb examine Land Use map during commission meeting

(Cleveland)- The White County Board of Commissioners have begun the process to finalize a set of Land Use Regulation that will be adopted and put into place.  Following the approval by the voters earlier this month the commissioners Monday night heard a report from Tom O’Bryant,  Community and Economic Director, who  told the commissioners there are several steps they need to take before the regulations  can go into effect.

O’Bryant said, first the ordinance and related activities need to be finalized,  they need to check the consistency with existing codes and adopt procedures and ordinances.

There’s a lot of work to be done, but  White County Commission Chairman Travis Turner said they will work quickly,  “ we are going to move as judicially as possible toward that end  we don’t want to be so fast we make a mistake, yet we do realize that we are eventually find something that we missed, we are human, that we will have to address,” said Turner.

O’Bryant said they have address all the comments and suggestions that they received during the public hearing held on the issue earlier this year.
