White County Commissioner Edwin Nix

(ATLANTA) – White County Commissioner Edwin Nix was recently reappointed and sworn
in to serve on the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG or Georgia’s County Association)
Board of Managers as an At-Large Representative.

“The Board of Managers, newly installed, represents the resiliency and competency of county officials throughout
Georgia” stated Executive Director Dave Wills. “Those who have already been in service on the Board, and
those who are joining for their first year of service, will continue to help Georgia and its counties navigate turbulent
political and economic waters created by the pandemic and other factors. I am looking forward to working with
the Board of Managers as we begin the return to economic and operational normalcy as ACCG continues its
mission of advancing the interests of Georgia’s counties and the people they serve.”

Commissioner Nix has represented District 3 on the White County Board of Commissioners since 2011 and
previously served as a County Commissioner 1999-2002. He is employed as the Executive Director of the White
County Water Authority. Nix has always been active in working to protect water, environment, and quality of life
in North Georgia.

He serves on the North Georgia Coosa River Council, as an Executive Board Vice President
of the Chestatee Chattahoochee Resource Conservation & Development Council, serves as regional
representative on the Georgia State Soil Commission, and serves on the Stakeholder Committee for
Management of the Lake Lanier Watershed. Edwin and his wife Linda are both natives of White County and
reside in the Shoal Creek Community.

Regarding his reappointment, Commissioner Nix stated, “I am proud to continue to serve on the ACCG Board of
Managers. ACCG works diligently to ensure that the counties can provide the necessary leadership, services, and programs to meet the health, safety, and welfare needs of their citizens.”
