(Cleveland)-The City of Cleveland will hold a Fourth of July fireworks display this year.

During their meeting Monday the council approved a $12,000 contract with Pyro Shows East Coast, Inc. to conduct the display.

Tom O’Bryant Economic Development and Planning Director for the city told the council that the fireworks display will be held on Saturday, July 6 and they will use the former Talon Property to stage the event. O’Bryant said the company will be directing the fireworks toward downtown Cleveland so people can go to different areas such as Freedom Park to view it.

No other special events are planned for that day according to officials, but in the future, there could be special activities planned around the fireworks display.
