 (Cleveland_fire_dept2Cleveland)- The Cleveland Fire Department is being stretched thin with the increased work load and calls the department has seen in recent months.   Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt told the Cleveland City Council last night  that during October the department saw a 102 percent increase in activities compared to a year ago.  

Pruitt said during October there was  a total of 99 calls during the month.  According to Chief Pruitt there was 60 calls in the city, with 39 county assist calls.  The largest number of calls was public assist, there was 43 of those along with 21 medical calls, 8 auto accident and 5 structure fire calls.
