Cleveland – The remnants of Delta still causing problems around White County, causing many road closures as well a boil water notice for several locations near the south end of the county.

A boil water notice has been issued for the City of Cleveland water customers according to an email from Andrea Smith with the City of Cleveland Public Works.

This notice will affect the City of Cleveland water customers located at Westmoreland Road (between Bobby’s Drive and Friendship Rd), Partin Rd., and all subsidiary roads. As well as Friendship Road at the nursing facility.

 

 

The areas affected include Westmoreland Road (East & West) Briarwood Dr, Shiree Dr., Shay’s Dr., Longview Dr., Independent Dr., Bald Ridge Dr., Jacob’s Dr., Oakridge Dr., The Pines Rd., Dutch Rd., Partin Rd., Biggs Dr., Mary Ellen Dr., Edna Dr., Lawson Rd., and Fairlane Dr, Friendship Road (at the nursing facility).  

Residents and Businesses in this area will notice a loss of water or water pressure while the line is being repaired.

This notice is required by EPD when water pressure drops below 20 PSI (pounds per square inch). The boiled water is for drinking purposes or you can use bottled water until bacteriological samples can be collected and tested. Water needs to be boiled until the City lifts the notice. The City will notify the media as soon as test results are received.

An email from White County Manager, Jason Cobb, has provided the following list of road closures due to rain and flooding.

The following roads are closed at their respective bridges or culverts:

Roy Powers Rd., Airport Rd., Barrett Mill Rd. at the triple culvert, Hulsey Mill Rd., Charlie Thomas Rd., Webster Lake Rd. is closed at the bridge.

Black Rd. between Cooley Woods and Dock Dorsey.  Also, Sandy Flats Rd. is closed in the area where it washed out last time.  Carolina Springs Rd. has one lane closed.
