(Cleveland)- Another major drug dealer has been arrested in White County. In a news release from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, GBI Special Agent in Charge of ARDEO Mitchell Posey advised that on Monday, The White County Sheriff’s Office, FBI’s North Georgia Major Offender’s Task Force and Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) executed a search warrant at David Lee Hawkins’ residence on Pelican Drive, which is off Underwood Farm Road south of Cleveland, after a two year investigation.Posey said, the investigation revealed Hawkins had been selling approximately 1 kilogram of methamphetamine a week over the past 2 years in White, Lumpkin, Dawson, Banks, Jackson, Habersham, and Hall Counties.
During the execution of the search warrant, authorities seized approximately 20 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, approximately $200,000, a 2014 Ford Tonka Edition F-150, a 2014 Ford Taurus, 1981 Chevrolet Corvette, and 2004 Harley Davidson Motorcycle.
Commenting on the drug arrest, White County Sheriff Neal Walden said, “ getting this drug dealer off the streets will slow the supply of meth down in North Georgia.”
The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office is a multi-agency unit that consists of the following Sheriff’s Offices: White County, Lumpkin County, Towns County, Banks County, Habersham County, Stephens County, and Rabun County, along with the Georgia National Guard Counter Drug Task Force, the Department of Public Safety, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Yes, yes, yes!!! Thank you Thank you, THANK YOU GOOD JOB.
Good job but it’s sad to say when one gets caught there’s still more out there even bigger sell worse stuff than that or more of it I would like to thank you for working so hard to stop these people from selling all this junk to our family’s and most importantly for keeping are children safe keep up thee good work I know it’s hard with all the crap you have to go thou to stop these crime thank you
Just because it’s printed in black and white and published in the county newspaper doesn’t make it true. … remember most government officials win at the poles climbing the government ladder higher and higher . ..most of which started out as police officers in need of a bonus or a higher status in the precinct. ….people are no longer innocent till found guilty now it’s guilty before a crime has been committed cause some idiot pointing fingers to save their own ass. …
They didnt say he was guilty. They said he was arrested and what they found. I for one am proud of them and all their efforts.
Thanks Keep up the good work. Stay safe. Prayerss with you all.

Wonder how much money that Sheriff is gonna pocket??? And not too mention what the deputies do with the dope…sell it right back on the streets…and for those who shit on this comment…I used to work with the GBI…I know what goes on in these small communities….
I moved to White County 4 years ago….little did I know, I was moving into a METHAMPHETAMINE community…since living in White county, I have had a %400 increase in crimes perpetrated against me, with NO help from the sheriff’s dept. Would not even come too take a report. This is a “good ‘ol boy’s community”, where if YOUR not one of the “good ‘ol boys”, your S.O.L. It saddens me that I had to do an investigation for the White County sheriff’s office, all because they were to lazy to be bothered with it. RESULT: to much overwhelming evidence on my part, would not even try the criminal case in court, got pleaded out by the DA. Now I can’t even get the $3,500.00 this lout owes me…White County Sheriff’s Department and ARDEO…bunch of failures drawing a paycheck from you and I property tax statements….ugh….land of the enslaved!
