(Cleveland)- The search for a missing person in White County is apparently over. Search efforts were conducted Wednesday in the area of Rose Road and 75 Alternate, north of Cleveland for a missing person identified by the White County Sheriff’s office as Heath Williams.

A social media post on Wednesday afternoon from the sheriff’s office said after a long and exhaustive multi-agency search, the remains of a male subject, believed to be Mr. Heath Williams, have been recovered.

A news release from the sheriff’s office advised that the remains were recovered in a heavily wooded location in the northern part of the county.

The deceased has been taken for an autopsy to learn the positive identification. There is no foul play suspected at this time and the sheriff’s office said while we must await the official identification of the subject, we ask that you respect the privacy of the family during this difficult time.

Williams had been missing since late July and was last seen in the area of Rose Road and 75-Alt near Mountain Lakes Resort.
