(Cleveland)- Weather conditions continued to improve across north Georgia  Monday afternoon and the National Weather Service allowed the Winter Weather Advisory to expire at 1PM.

White County Public Safety Director David Murphy, in an email, said temperatures in the area have warmed up to upper 30 and low 40’s. Forecasters say  Isolated to scattered rain showers should linger into this evening and overnight, however temperatures should remain above freezing and no hazardous impacts are expected.

Murphy advised the Georgia Department of Transportation has reopened Richard Russell Scenic Highway, after closing the roadway earlier Monday  because of the winter weather.
