(Cleveland)- Northeast Georgia continues to deal with winter storm conditions.

Forecasters say widespread precipitation will diminish through this morning…however a chance of precipitation will continue into Monday. A wintry mix of rain…sleet…and snow is expected over northeast Georgia. Gusty winds will persist over most of north and central Georgia this morning.
An icy slush on the most or the roads in White County is making travel difficult and dangerous. Some of the roads in the northern section and higher elevations are very slick.
You are urged to not travel unless absolutely necessary.
The ice, snow and windy condition has resulted in a large number of power outages in Northeast Georgia. Habersham Electric’s outage mage shows over 6,000 meters without power in their service area, the majority of those are in Rabun County, in White County as of 7 AM around 300 power meters were affected.

Roads are slushy, passable, use caution. DOT has treated state routes.
Several trees down during operational period causing power outages and road blockages. County crews clearing as needed.
A White County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured when tree fell on his vehicle, Murphy advises he was transported to the hospital for treatment and released.
Temperatures currently between 33 and 35 depending on location.
