(ATLANTA) – The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the unemployment rate in the Georgia Mountains region in October was 4.9 percent, unchanged from the revised September rate. The rate in October 2014 was 5.8 percent.
While the rate was unchanged, the number of employed resident increased by 1,221.
In White County the Labor Department advised that the unemployment rate was 4.6 percent, down from the September revised rate of 4.7 percent.
In October the labor force in White County was 14,027, of those 13,380 were employed, while 647 people were unemployed.
The labor department said most of the decrease came in manufacturing.
