(Cleveland)- The severe weather threat for Sunday continues to increase for north Georgia.  White County Public Safety Director David Murphy advised Saturday that the Storm Prediction Center has White County in the Enhanced Risk area for Severe Weather.

The weather service says we could see:

Damaging Winds > more than 60MPH

Brief Spin Up Tornadoes in the Line

Heavy Rain 1-2 inches in just a few hours

According to forecasters with all these elements we could see a greater threat for tornadoes.   A secondary band of storms will follow later in the evening with another round of high winds and large hail

Murphy says that all agencies and departments have been asked to review their operational plan for Sunday.  Departments have been requested to check equipment and be ready for activation. The Amateur Radio ARES and CERT volunteers have been advised to be on alert for activation.

Murphy is asking all residents to be on alert during the day Sunday and stay safe.
