(Cleveland) – While much of southeastern Georgia remains in moderate-to-severe drought status, northeastern Georgia, including White County, is no longer in any class of drought. That’s according to the latest Drought Map of Georgia from the weather service Drought Mitigation Center released this week.

WRWH Weather reporter Bill Kinsland says “thanks largely to the significant rainfall totals over the area during the past two weeks, the “Abnormally Dry” conditions of May have dissipated.”

The latest forecast calls for more rain chances the early part of next week.
