(Cleveland)- White County Fire Services answered several calls over the weekend. Among those calls according to Ana Newberry, White County Public Safety, on Saturday, at 1:30AM, White County Fire Services responded to a reported structure fire at a residence on Funny Farm Rd.  Upon arrival, no smoke was visible from the outside. 

Firefighters determined that the HVAC had a short.  Newberry said the breaker was turned off and the resident was advised to have the unit repaired by a certified electrician.

 On Sunday, at 9:30AM Newberry said  White County Fire Services with Automatic Aid from City of Cleveland Fire, responded to a home on Doug Nix Road that had been struck by lightning. 

Upon arrival, there was no visible smoke but the electrical meter had been severely damaged.  Habersham EMC was dispatch to the scene and removed the meter and advised home owners that the main breaker was no longer in working order. 

According to Newberry firefighters went through the home with a thermal imaging camera to determine if any extensions were present; none were found.
