[Cleveland] – Early voting is now closed in Georgia, and White County residents have turned out to support their candidate.

WRWH spoke with Lisa Manning, Chief Registrar for White County Friday afternoon, and as of 4 pm on Friday, well over one-quarter of the county’s registered voters came out to cast their ballot early.

These numbers show an increase each week in the number of weekly early voters. In week one the number of voters was around 1,500, increasing to 1,800 for the second week and more than 1,900 for this final week, bringing the total to 5,244 registered voters, or 30.12 percent, who came out to cast their early vote, according to information provided by Manning.

This number represents more than double the amount that came out for early voting in 2014, where only a little over 2,200 residents came out to vote early.
