(Cleveland)- Don Strength a Weather Specialist with the White County Emergency Management Agency this morning reported, we ended up with 3” at the Emergency Operation Center  in Cleveland.  Strength said,  I know some of you recorded more than that. I have received reports of up to 5” on the west side of the county.    Strength said, the snow has come to an end as the moisture is long gone now pushing up the eastern seaboard.

There could be a few light snow flurries out there but nothing that will accumulate.  According to Strength White County has  worked a total of 9 automobile accidents with no injuries since 6:pm last evening and we have a total of 5 trees down.  Road crews have been working extremely hard all night and now that the snow has stopped I think they are making some progress.

Strength reported that he had received a report that the snow is melting on some of the roadways.  He said, I would expect that to continue slowly on the main roads. Secondary roads and roads that are shaded or protected from the sun will be the slowest to recover.  Higher elevations and colder valleys could actually drop a degree or two before warming later this morning which could cause more ice on the roads. Best idea is to stay off the roads until we get well above 32 everywhere.

The Big question strength said,  is how much do we warm today?   Forecast high is for  40  today but with the snow pack and with snow totals around 6” just north of us, temps will be hard pressed to get that high. I f we get substantial sunshine later today then I think we will see good melting of the snow. Next issue may be Black Ice tonight as we go down to 25 or maybe even a degree or two lower.
