Property Tax

(Cleveland)- The White County Board of Commissioners have voted to maintain the current tax millage rate of 9.998, however since the rollback rate is lower than the current millage rate– in order to maintain the same millage rate –state law requires the commissioners to advertise, announce a potential tax increase, and hold three (3) public hearings.

A county news release states, the White County Board of Commissioners works diligently to keep White County’s millage rate as low as possible while providing the necessary services to the ever-growing population and want to stress that their intent is to maintain the current millage rate of 9.998

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax rate  to be held at the County Administration Building, 1235 Helen Hwy. Cleveland, on Thursday, August 3, at 8:00 a.m. and Thursday, August 3, at 6:00 p.m. and Monday, August 14, at 4:30 p.m.
