(Cleveland)- Along with keeping an eye on election day activities, Tuesday officials will also be watching the weather. The National Weather Service says there is a risk for strong to severe thunderstorms that will increase after midnight in northwest Georgia and shift southeastward through the day Tuesday.

Forecasters believe the highest severe weather threat continues to appear to be across north Georgia beginning during the early morning hours Tuesday through mid-morning when wind shear will be their highest.  However, the risk for some severe thunderstorms will persist through the day Tuesday for areas farther south and east as well.

Since the threat of severe weather likely will begin before the sun rises on Tuesday, it will be important to remain weather aware overnight. Keep it here to Local News Radio, 93.9 FM for the latest weather and special bulletins.
