[Dahlonega] – The excitement of the big match up between the White County Warriors and Lumpkin County Indians was doused by evening thunderstorms in Dahlonega and across northeast Georgia.
With just a few minutes of play the game was put on hold by visible lightening, requiring a mandatory 30 minute delay, which led to another 30 minute delay immediately following. After the second delay, about 5 before nine, the game was called off due to weather, with no score by either team. This game will not be made up according to officials.
The warriors will meet another neighboring rival next Friday when they host Habersham Central. Thursday’s Warrior Rally, live from Chick-fil-a, will start at 6:05 PM with Friday night coverage on Newstalk 1350 beginning Friday at 6:00 PM on the radio and online at wrwh.com
