Alto resident Victor Anderson

(Mt. Airy)- Former Habersham County Commission Chair and local businessman Victor Anderson has made it official he’s running for state representative. Anderson launched his campaign Wednesday for the District 10 House seat currently held by Terry Rogers (R-Clarkesville).

Rogers, a 5-term incumbent, announced on Feb. 17 he will not seek re-election.

In a news release, Anderson describes himself as a “Constitutional Conservative” who is a  strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment, pro-life and believes in limited government. “I am a Christian and believe that our nation and laws are rooted in God’s Commandments,” he says. Anderson cites health care, agriculture, tourism, and transportation as areas of “common concern to all our communities.” He says his experience as a business owner, county leader, and volunteer make him uniquely qualified to represent the citizens of Habersham and White counties.

Below is the statement from Victor Anderson:

With the announcement by Representative Terry Rogers not to seek re-election, I have decided to run
for the District 10 seat in the Georgia House. Terry has served the citizens of Habersham and White
counties with integrity and dedication for almost 10 years. He is a friend and mentor whose leadership
continues to be an asset to Northeast Georgia.

When I decided not to seek re-election for the District 3 County Commission seat two years ago, I knew
in my heart it would be temporary. I have long desired to serve my family, friends and neighbors in
Habersham and White counties. I believe it is my duty and my time to help protect our conservative
values.

I am a Constitutional Conservative, strong supporter of the 2 nd Amendment, pro-life and believe in
limited government. I am a Christian and believe that our nation and laws are rooted in God’s
Commandments.

Governor Kemp has called for making Georgia not only the Best State for Business but the Best State for
Small Business. As a small business owner, I want to help champion this cause. We need to continue
fully funding our education system and return more control to local Boards who understand the needs
of the community. Healthcare, agriculture, tourism and transportation are areas of common concern to
all our communities. My experience in business, county leadership, volunteering and networking make
me uniquely qualified to be the best choice to represent the citizens of Habersham and White counties.

As your Representative, I will listen to your needs and concerns, work to protect our way of life and seek
ways to advance our economy while limiting government growth and regulation.

Kim and I ask for your support, your vote and most importantly, your prayers in this election and
beyond. May God bless you all!
