(Cleveland)- White County authorities have made an arrest in the Christmas day arson case at Solid Rock Baptist Church, in White County.

Captain Clay Hammond, with the sheriff’s office, said Saturday in a news release that a tip received by the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s office led to Clint Vance, age 33, of Kennesaw being identified as the suspect involved in the incident.

According to Hammond, Vance, who was already in custody in Cherokee County on unrelated charges, has been charged with Arson and Vandalism to a place of Worship.

Captain Hammond said the incident will continue to be investigated by the White Co Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshal’s Office, which may lead to other charges being filed.
