AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of North Georgia men’s tennis player Ryan Gaskin was named the Peach Belt Conference’s Player of the Week Tuesday morning by the league office.

Gaskin kept his perfect season going with two singles and one doubles win last week. The sophomore from Droitwich, England, defeated Jannik Kumbier of No. 13 Georgia College, 7-5, 6-4, and then Northwood’s Ben Brandherm, 6-1, 6-2. Both players were ranked 10th in their respective regions. Gaskin partnered with Hughes Renaud to beat GC’s Nathan Connelly and Enzo Kohn, 6-0; his doubles match against Northwood was unfinished. 

Gaskin is one of three PBC players without a loss in singles play this season as he improved to 9-0 overall. He is also 7-0 in doubles.

The Nighthawks are in action today against Texas-Tyler down in Orlando. First serve is at 3 p.m.
