DAHLONEGA – After winning the Peach Belt Conference tournament earlier in the day, the No. 22 University of North Georgia women’s basketball team learned that they will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming NCAA Southeast Regional. Anderson, riding a 27-game winning streak, will be the host school and the No. 1 seed.
The Nighthawks will battle Emmanuel, the seventh seed, in the opening round Friday. The winner will play either No. 3 Wingate or No. 6 Clayton State Saturday evening in the regional semifinal.
The other side of the bracket features top-seeded Anderson taking on No. 8 Barton and No. 4 Carson-Newman taking on No. 5 Lander in the quarterfinals.
This is North Georgia’s second trip in a row and third trip overall to the NCAA Regional round. UNG has won at least one game in each regional they have been selected to.
