(Cleveland)- Two Cleveland men have been arrested in connection with a major multi-county drug distribution operation. Last Friday the White County Sheriff’s Office and Agents with the North Georgia Regional Drug Enforcement Office, after a lengthy investigation, executed a search warrant at 2755 Highway 254 in Cleveland. Agents seized trafficking amounts of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana packaged for distribution, and firearms.
Mitchell Posey, Special Agent In Charge with the North Georgia Regional Drug Enforcement Office said, Johnny Russell Patton and Scotty Lynn Gooch were arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Posey said, these individuals and others are believed to be responsible, over a six month period in 2014, for the distribution of more than 15 pounds of methamphetamine in White, Stephens, Habersham, and Lumpkin counties.
According to Posey, the investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
