DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. | The Truett McConnell track and field teams competed in the Embry-Riddle First Chance/Last Chance meet Saturday and had five athletes earn a total of seven top-15 finishes.

For the women’s team, Jhalexuis Chandler posted a seventh place finish in the discus throw, tossing a longest throw of 109 feet and two inches. She also launched the shot put 36 feet and nine inches to place sixth in the event. Ivie Nobles also earned a top-10 finish, running the 5000-meter run in 19 minutes and 25 seconds, good for seventh overall.

In the men’s competition, Donald Bonner placed seventh in the triple jump, bounding 42 feet and 9.75 inches for seventh place. Tyler Barber finished second in the 800 meter dash, sprinting to a time of 1:55.06, while Robert Bledsoe earned a 10th place finish in the mile run, amassing a time of 4:44.34.

The Bears competed against many NCAA Division I and II schools, including Florida Tech, Nova Southeastern, Saint Leo, Florida Gulf Coast, University of Tampa, Florida Southern, Central Florida and Florida Atlantic.

Truett McConnell will next travel to Emory University on March 17 and 18.
