(Cleveland)-  According to the U.S. News &  World Report’s (USN&WR) 2018 Best Colleges
list, Truett McConnell University [TMU] ranks the second highest Regional College in the South
for least student debt.

According to the report, the average amount of debt upon graduation at
TMU is $15,542. There are 324 Regional Colleges, as classified by USN&WR, in the nation.
Institutions are ranked according to their performance across a set of widely accepted
indicators of excellence: graduation and first-year student retention rates, assessment by
administrators at peer institutions, faculty and financial resources, admissions selectivity and
alumni giving.

“In an age where student debt is skyrocketing, now totaling more than $1.4 trillion, it is
incumbent upon a Christian institution to do all we can to minimize student debt in order to
free students to follow their call without financial encumbrance,” said TMU President, Dr. Emir
Caner.

“For the faculty and staff at TMU, our biblical worldview maintains that we should serve others
sacrificially, one facet of which is to help students graduate without burdensome debt. While
we wish we could find a way to nullify all student debt altogether, we will, at the least, do all we
can to be a blessing to students that the Lord has entrusted to us.”

“As this ranking demonstrates,” Caner said, “parents and students alike can have great
confidence that the TMU family will do all we can to meet their needs and equip them to find
their calling.”
