ASHEVILLE, N.C. | Taylor Nix has been named Appalachian Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week this week for her performance against Bryan College on Thursday, the league announced Monday afternoon. Nix is the only player this year that has won the award twice with her first honor of the season coming on March 13.
Nix tossed a nine inning shutout against Bryan on Thursday, allowing just six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in the 1-0 win. The Bears will take on Union on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the AAC Tournament in Kingsport, Tennessee. |
