(CLEVELAND)-    Senior Anna Murr finished with a game-high 23 points, but the Montreat Cav’s got out to a 10 point lead early in the second half and never looked back en route to a 78-71 win over the Truett McConnell women’s basketball team Saturday afternoon. The Bears are now 2-4 on the season and 0-3 in AAC play.

The Bears exchanged points early on throughout the beginning of play to finish the first quarter only training the cav’s by two, 16-18. TMU came out strong with a solid basket by Sierra Kendall in the paint to cut the lead by one. Montreat retaliated with a three and went on to finish the half up by seven, 30-37.

Montreat went on to lead as much as 10 points in the second half.TMU cut the lead down to 6 with just under 12 seconds to play, but the Cav’s knocked down two free throws to seal the victory.

Anna Murr lead the Lady Bears offensively with a season high of 23 points for the night. Madison CurtisKinley Mitchell, and Sierra Kendall each pitched in a 10 piece for TMU. 

The Lady Bears will resume play at home before entering Thanksgiving Break against conference rival Bryan College. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
