Postell

CLEVELAND | Head women’s basketball coach Tron Griffin has announced the signing of La’Cheri Postell to the 2017 recruiting class.

“It is truly a pleasure to add not only a phenomenal athlete but also a great person to the TMU Lady Bear family,” said Griffin. “La’Cheri brings toughness and a competitive edge coming from a great high school basketball program where she was a standout both on and off the court. We are excited to add La’cheri and her family to what we are building here at at Truett McConnell.”

A 6-foot-1 forward from Port Orange, Florida, Postell led the Volusia County area in rebounding, averaging 16 boards per game in addition to her 13 points per contest. She set Atlantic High School records in rebounds in a single game (25) and broke the school’s rebounding record by former teammate and current University of Florida player Ronni Williams in her senior campaign.

“I chose TMU because everyone on campus was genuine, the school has a lot of structure and a very family oriented environment while putting academics first,” said Postell.

Postell was also being recruited by Western Carolina, Coastal Georgia, Santa Fe College, St. Petersburg College and Embry-Riddle.
