LOUDON, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2018) – After the first 36 holes, the Truett McConnell University men’s golf team, who is receiving votes in the latest NAIA national top 25, sits in second place (577) behind No. 12 Dalton State. The Bears are four strokes ahead of Appalachian Athletic Conference foe No. 13 Point University (581).
 
TMU currently sits higher than any other AAC school. Freshman Jhett Lewis led the way finishing day one in seventh place individually (72-70). Dawson Day followed tied in 11th (78, 67) and David Ford tied in 14th (71, 75). Luke Peavy also finished the first two rounds of 18 holes in the top 25 for the Bears in 21st (74, 74).
 
The Bears will finish the tournament on Tuesday with 18 more holes.
