CLEVELAND, Ga. (March 13, 2019) – The Truett McConnell University women’s lacrosse team hosted St. Ambrose University for a midweek nonconference matchup at the TMU Lacrosse Complex. The Fighting Bees won their fourth straight game over the Lady Bears (21-7) to remain perfect on the year.

PLAY-BY-PLAY

The Lady Bears got up on the scoreboard in the first two minutes into the game. Sophomore Cameron Leeaggressively netted TMU’s first goal of the game (1-0), however, the Fighting Bees responded with seven goals of their own over the next 12 minutes (1-7). With 11:08 to go before the half, Holly Foster netted her fifth goal of her freshman campaign to make it 2-7. After two more back-to-back goals by St. Ambrose, senior McKenzie Noggle found the back of the net with 7:31 left in the half (3-9). Lee scored again with five minutes to go (4-12).

Despite a 12-goal deficit heading into the second half (4-16), the Lady Bears worked to hold the Fighting Bees to just five more goals all the while scoring three themselves. Noggle, Foster and Kathryn Hipe all recorded goals for TMU in the final 30 minutes of regulation.

LEADERS

Foster led shooting six times while Noggle and Hipe each shot three apiece. Goalkeeper Christian Roberts earned nine saves on the day.
