AUGUSTA, Ga. – Ahead of the Peach Belt Conference baseball tournament this weekend, three University of North Georgia baseball players were named to the league’s All-Academic Team as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Seniors Conner Corbitt, Daniel McCrary and Derrick Pickvet were the three Nighthawks on the team. Corbitt, from Juliette, Georgia, sports a 3.70 GPA in Criminal Justice. McCrary, from Gainesville, Georgia, has a perfect 4.00 GPA in Kinesiology, while Pickvet, from Cumming, Georgia, has a 3.47 GPA while studying Marketing. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. |
