(Cleveland)- Three people were arrested this week on drug charges in Towns County as a result of a  lengthy investigation into a multi-state drug trafficking organization..   Mitchell Posey, Special Agent In Charge of the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement  Office in Cleveland advised in an email,  on Wednesday the Towns County Sheriff’s office and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement  Office served a search warrant at Rebecca Diane Davis’ residence, 1430 Overlook Trail, in Hiawassee.  

Posey said,  in just the past 6 months, this   group is responsible for trafficking multiple kilograms of methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, and  pharmaceuticals in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Towns County authorities seized methamphetamine, heroin, alprazolam and marijuana at Davis’ residence. The street value of the drugs  seized during the search warrant was $1,200. 

Davis, 40- year old  Nathan Christopher Rose,  of Hiawassee and 22-year old  Sierra Paige Lingerfelt,  of Hayesville, North Carolina  were  arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute, methamphetamine, heroin, alprazolam and marijuana.  All three  were transported to the Towns County Detention Center.

The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office is a multi-agency unit that consists of the following  Sheriff’s Offices: White County, Lumpkin County, Towns County, Banks County, Habersham County,  Stephens County, and Rabun County, along with the Cleveland Police Department, the Georgia National Guard Counter Drug Task Force, the Department of Public Safety, and the Georgia Bureau of  Investigation.
