Sudie Dover, age 103, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018.
Ms. Dover was born on July 27, 1915, in Banks County, Georgia, to the late Rev. James William and Louisa Cape Dover. Out of her parent’s union, there were ten children: Rosie, Zelia Mae, Irene, Corene, Charlie, Freeman, Lou, William, Dora, and Sudie. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Ms. Dover enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with her family, especially the younger ones. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Homer, Georgia.
She leaves behind the following to mourn her loss: her daughter, Charlene Nicely; grandson, William Harrison Nicely; granddaughter, Hope Joy Nicely; great-granddaughter, Sophie Nicely; great-grandsons, Liam and Byron Nicely; ex-son-in-law and caregiver, Willis Nicely; a host of nieces and nephews; those that were there every day to help her get through this transition: Alice Coley, Bennett and Michelle Dover, Samuel “Thaddius” and Carol Dover, and Latreece Dover; and a very special friend, Rev. Will Curry.
Memorial Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Banks County, Georgia, with Rev. Will Curry officiating.
