LAURINBURG, N.C. (Dec. 8, 2018) – The Truett McConnell University women’s basketball team traveled to St. Andrews University on Saturday for their ninth straight Appalachian Athletic Conference game. The Knights (4-6, 4-5 AAC) handed the Lady Bears (2-9, 1-8 AAC) their sixth straight loss, 77-50.

STONG START | LATE DEFEAT

The Lady Bears outscored the Knights in the first quarter by four points (22-18), putting up over 20 points in the first quarter for the first time since the second game of the season (Nov. 3). However, the momentum changed in the second quarter. St. Andrews went on to put up 21 points themselves and held the Lady Bears to 11 to enter into halftime with a 6-point deficit (33-39).

The third quarter saw the tightest race of the night (12 TMU-13 SAU), but it was the fourth quarter that ultimately proved to be the difference as the Knights put up 25 more points in comparison to Truett’s five. St. Andrews drained nine 3-pointers in comparison to the Lady Bears’ six.
