AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of North Georgia junior softball player Kylee Smith has been named the Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week for a seventh time this season as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Smith earns her PBC-record seventh weekly award this season after going 3-0 last week with a 0.67 ERA. The junior from Suwanee, Georgia, tossed three complete games, allowing only two earned runs and eight hits over 21 innings of work with 23 strikeouts. She pitched a one-hit shutout in the opener against Columbus State, striking out nine. Then, she pitched a complete game in game two against CSU with seven more strikeouts. She finished with seven strikeouts in a 6-1 win over Georgia College as UNG won the PBC regular-season title outright and No. 1 seed for the PBC tournament. Smith continues to lead the PBC in wins, strikeouts and ERA.

The Nighthawks will take on UNC Pembroke in the PBC quartefinals Friday afternoon at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m.
