(Sautee)-After the last week or so rainy period you would think that September was a wet month, but according to stats compiled by WRWH Weather Reporter Bill Kinsland we were just over an inch shy of our normal monthly rainfall amount.
Bill said, a quick check of the rainy period from September 22nd until Wednesday, Helen received 4.13 inches, Sautee 3.79 inches and Cleveland 2.76 inches. As for as the monthly rainfall totals are concerned, Helen recorded 4.92 inches, Sautee 4.91 and here at WRWH we recorded 4.05 inches, that gives us a county average of 4.63 inches which is 1.05 inches below the normal for the month.
According to Bill, we received 77 percent of the monthly total in the last 8 days of the month. He said remember we had two weeks in the middle of the month when we received no rain.
