(Cleveland)- The White County Chamber of Commerce held their annual meeting on August 21st at Babyland General Hospital in Cleveland  and during the meeting the chamber recognized businesses and individuals, such as the business of the year, but the person selected for the  “Citizen of the Year” award was unable to attend the meeting. That person was recognized Tuesday during the White County Rotary Club meeting.  Ron Webb of Cleveland was recipient.  The award is presented to individuals who are stable, well known and respected in their communities. They are unselfish with their time and talents and are actively engaged in community-based projects. For them, the well-being of the community is of utmost importance.  Webb previously worked in law enforcement, he currently assists the Boy Scouts in recruiting donations, serves as the president of the Northeast Georgia Veterans’ Society, and Sargent at Arms for the White County Rotary Club. He was intrigral in recognition of Private Glaze, the highest decorated hero from White County by partnering with the Helen City Commission to erect a statue in Private Glaze’s honor.
