Cleveland, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced a revised completion date for Phase One of the Cleveland Bypass. GDOT spokeswoman Teri Pope said they have been working diligently with Sunbelt Structures, the contractor for the project, to finish Phase One of the Cleveland Bypass. The new target completion date is now April 30th next year. Pope noted about the date, “that is weather permitting.”
Sunbelt is currently being penalized daily for their work exceeding the original contract completion date for roadwork which was July 31, 2014. the daily fine is $1,869.
Meanwhile White County resident Sam Owens and his drone has been busy. Sam has made an updated video of the bypass construction. The new video is posted on youtube online as Cleveland Bypass Phase 1 Update 2.
