(Cleveland)- The downtown Cleveland square is looking brighter l with the recent addition of American Flags and new Welcome to Cleveland, Georgia banners, Wednesday afternoon White County 4-H youth, Garden Club members and downtown merchants were out in force filling new planters with beautiful flowers around the square. 

Girl Scout and 4-H Club member Callie Armour has spearheaded this project, working with the city of Cleveland who purchased the planters, dirt, and flowers.  Armour said “we have been working on this project since last September, like getting things ordered and everything in order and everything.

 Downtown merchant Nadine Wardinga said the main feature of the planters is Mandeville’s, with a variety of sun hardy plants surrounding them. 

The planters have been placed all around the square and at traffic islands. 

Armor said this is one of the ways she can serve her community.
