White County Magistrate Judge Joy Parks

 (Atlanta)- Governor  Nathan Deal Wednesday  announced appointments to fill several judicial vacancies around the state, including Joy R. Parks to a judgeship in the Enotah Judicial Circuit.  

Parks will fill the vacancy in the Enotah Judicial Circuit created by the resignation of the Honorable Murphy C. Miller.  

Parks expressed her appreciates for the confidence placed in her by the governor,  “ I look forward to serving the people of the circuit, I’m extremely honored by the trust that has been put in me and I just Pray that I will live up to all of those expectations, said Parks.

 Parks is the Chief Magistrate Judge of the White County Magistrate Court and owns her own firm. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. Parks and her husband, Robert, have one child and reside in Cleveland.

Parks and Attorney Michelle Vaughan of Blairsville were nominated for the position earlier this month.   

Parks advised Wednesday afternoon that there is not a scheduled start date or swearing in date as of yet.
