(Cleveland)- No major damage or injuries were reported as a result of two early morning fire calls in White County Monday. Ana Newberry, White County Public Safety spokeswoman said, the first call was received at 12:30 AM White County firefighters from Station 5 & 6, with Automatic Aid from the City of Cleveland, responded to the report of a structure fire on Mount Pleasant Church Road.
Newberry said, upon arrival, light smoke was showing from the wall area in the carport. Personnel extinguished smoldering boards after removing some of the siding. According to Newberry, the house was checked for extensions, none were found. All other units were canceled.
Around 4 AM fire units from station 5, 6 with Automatic Aid from the City of Cleveland, responded to the report of a possible lightning strike at a residence on Tesnatee Landing Drive. City of Cleveland firefighters were first on scene and found that lightning hit the home which caused one half of the home to be without power. Firefighters checked for extensions and none were found.
The homeowners were advised to contact a licensed electrician.
