(Cleveland)- A 20 month old child and the mother received burns Tuesday in Cleveland when a pan of boiling water was knocked off a stove. Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt said the incident occurred around 10:30 AM at a residence on Pinecrest Circle, in the city.
According to Pruitt, the mother had reached into a cabinet above the stove for something and the item fell out of the cabinet and hit the handle of the pot of boiling water which caused the hot water to splatter on the child and mother. Both the victims were transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment, by White County Emergency Medical Service ambulance.
Cleveland Fire Department, White County EMS and Cleveland Police Department responded to the call.
