(Cleveland)- More rain is on its way to north Georgia and with that rain come a Flash Flood Watch issued by the National Weather. The watch is in effect now through 7 AM Thursday.

Forecasters say a strong upper-level low-pressure system in combination with deep tropical moisture and saturated soils will set up the potential for flooding and flash flooding across a large portion of North and Central Georgia during this time. According to weather officials, rainfall will increase in intensity through the day Wednesday across the watch area with an additional 2 to 3 inches of rain likely with isolated higher amounts possible.

Due to the heavy rainfall, we have received the past several days, many creeks and streams are already near or above bank full. Creeks and rivers could rise out of their banks, closing roads and impacting homes, businesses and farms.

If you live in a flood prone area you should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
