NOAA/National Drought Mitigation Center has just released its latest Drought Map for Georgia for data ending Tuesday Morning (11-05-2019).
Thanks to ample rainfall late last week, there has been a major improvement in drought status in White County. The entire county is now in a D-ONE or (“MODERATE DROUGHT”)…Last week we were still in severe-to-extreme drought (D-TWO to D-THREE). Ground and Surface Water levels have come up markedly although they are still below normal. Soil moisture has improved dramatically (23.8% now vs 16.3% a month ago).
