Sports – The excitement was high last night at White County High School as the Lady Warriors took the victory over the Lady Lions in the first round matchup of the state playoffs, 63 to 50.
It was a slow start with the game delayed for 30 minutes awaiting the arrival of the Lady Lions from Central High School. However, once the game began it looked to be a close matchup all throughout the first period with the scores remaining close but with Central ahead at the start of the 2nd period by 2 points, 13 to 11.
White county came to win, and took the lead in the 2nd and kept it, and kept pulling ahead, leading the Lions into halftime 34 to 23, Warriors.
Ready to win, the Warriors claimed the 2nd half as their own, holding the Lions at bay, and taking the first state tournament win in 35 years.
