AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of North Georgia junior Kylee Smith has been named the Peach Belt Conference’s Softball Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Smith went 3-0 in four appearances with a 0.00 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 19 innings of work. The junior from Suwanee, Georgia, struck out 14 in a two-hit shutout of Augusta, allowing one walk. She struck out eight in a three-hit shutout at Lee.

For the week, the reigning National Player of the Year allowed only six hits and three walks. Smith leads the PBC in wins, ERA and strikeouts. She is ranked third in NCAA Division II in ERA and hits allowed per seven innings and leads the nation in strikeouts.

The Nighthawks will be back in action Saturday at home against Georgia Southwestern. First pitch is set for noon.
