Jerry Roger Norris, age 66, of Toccoa, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 25, 2015, following and extended illness.
He was born in Otto, NC, on September 11, 1949, to the late Alex Neil and Beulah Rogers Norris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, L.T., Clarence, and Joseph Norris; and his sister, Elizabeth Phillips. Mr. Norris served his country in the US Army and retired from the National Guard. He was of the Holiness Faith.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Elaine Norris of Toccoa; children, Amy (Hoss) and Ken of Toccoa, Stephanie (Grunt) and Frank of Toccoa; sister, Betty McCall of Highlands, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Fran Norris of Franklin, NC, Harry and Loretta Norris of Scaly Mountain, NC, Michael and Kim Free of Winder, GA, Jerry and Joydean Martin, Cornelia, GA; granddaughter and spouse, Elizabeth and Joe Tucker; grandson, Hamilton Pitts and fiancée Zanna; granddaughter, Amber Allen; and grandson Andrew Allen.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel in Demorest with Rev. Aaron Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Georgia National Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 28, and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 29 at the funeral home.
