(Clarkesville)- Habersham Electric Membership Corporation has been notified that some members have received telephone calls stating in Spanish that their power will be disconnected unless they make a payment through them or by calling a number provided.
HEMC spokeswoman Nicole Dover said in a news release, members should hang up at once and report the call to their local law enforcement. Do not give out any personal information.
If HEMC members have questions regarding their accounts, customer service representatives can be reached at 800-640-6812.
