(Cleveland)- Habersham Electric Membership Cooperative will be holding it’s annual meeting next Thursday July 18th at Habersham Ninth Grade Academy. HEMC President/CEO Brad Hicks speaking on Local News Radio Friday morning encouraged all members to attend the annual event.
Hick said registration and voting for board members will begin at 3 PM, as usual there will be a barbeque meal and entertainment along with door prizes awarded during the meeting time.
Hicks also shared information about other projects undertaken by HEMC like expansion of Trailwave fiber broadband service and their new approach to maintaining the right-of-way and how it has been able to help them to improve the reliability of service to customers.
Hick said they are taking advantage of new legislation and funding opportunities to expand broadband service to as many customers as possible. He said if you know fiber lines have been installed in your area go ahead and inquire about the service, “ because our philosophy in the past about you having to pay the full instillation cost, we really rethought that and where we can get service to you as a member affordably we want to do that, “ said Hicks.
